For those who are not familiar with golf tournaments, every two years there are two international golf team events – the Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup. The Ryder Cup is an assembled European Team vs the US Team and the Presidents Cup is the same US Team vs an International Team (excluding Europe). In 2022, the United States hosted the International team to play at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC.
Being the sneaky gift giver she is, Dylan was surprised by Kaylyn with tickets to the 2022 Presidents Cup with our good friends, Alex and Alex Duvall. “Mr” Alex (as we call him) was raised a stones throw from the course, so since both Alex’s were planning to attend it was a perfect occasion for us to make it our first trip together to the east coast!
Since we work remotely, we came in a few days early to split time between work and play – I enjoyed two rounds of golf just outside of Charlotte while Kaylyn surveyed a giant antique center. It was Dylan’s first time in North Carolina so his golf clubs ended up being our third passenger.
We joined the Alex’s on the Saturday and Sunday tournament rounds (Sunday being the final round). There were quite a lot of people there, over 40,000 fans per day sprawling across the golf course. This made the atmosphere really fun!

The International team put up a good fight on Saturday, but by the end of the weekend the US Team came out on top. This being our second golf tournament we’ve attended together, after the US Open at Pebble Beach in 2019, so we know that more are to come!

Where were we…?
