Since the Wright Family grew up in the Seattle area, the North Cascades was only a short drive away. The Wright parents, Tim and Anne, would take the whole family to a very secluded lake on the border of Canada in the North Cascades called Ross Lake. Ross Lake has a small set of floating cabins that are only accessible by water taxi and we lucked out with a last minute weekend reservation while Tim and Anne happened to be in town. It was a blast to revisit the lake and feel the nostalgia of past visits with the Wright family.

Since the cabins are floating on the lake, the only mode of transportation is renting a kayak or motored boats. The whole weekend we traveled up and down the lake on a small 4-seater motorboat, stopping here and there on some hiking paths. With high, snow-capped peaks on each side, the lake is majestic!

On one of the hikes, we came across a boatload of mushrooms. One of them had this little frog hiding under a mushroom umbrella – hiding like Waldo below!

Where were we…?
