To celebrate Kaylyn’s parent’s 30th anniversary, we carefully planned an epic 2-week, excursion filled, adventure to Alaska! A place where we all had wanted to go for a long time, both for wildlife and dramatic landscape beauty. There were seven of us in total with Kaylyn’s parents and family.
Vancouver to Inside Passage
We boarded the Majestic Princess cruise ship in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was our first time in Canada and we already plan on returning, right after leaving port the views immediately became postcard worthy.

Ketchikan, the floating port

The biggest highlight here should have been the excursion through Misty Fjords National Monument, but honestly it was the fish & chips! We feasted on halibut, cod, and salmon from the local Fish House. Best fish & chips we’ve ever had, hands down.
Mist Fjords National Monument lived up to the name
Taking a small boat through the islands and inlets, we made our way to the Misty Fjords. An astounding surprise on the way was a pod of Orca, our captain said it was a rare sight for those waters. Once we arrived in the Fjords, it was like we boating into Yosemite Valley; tall granite faces greeted us on either side.

Where were we…?
