Glacier Bay National Park

Mostly only accessible by water, Glacier Bay National Park was in fact full of glaciers and marine wildlife. And our good weather continued with mostly clear skies and NO RAIN! We saw hundreds of sea otters, humpback whales, bald eagles, and mountain goats sprinkled along the cliffside.

We found the best places to see whales were the waters around Juneau and in Glacier Bay. Again, the weather cooperated and we had smooth sailing to see some breaches and slap their fins on the water to make loud noises – which we learned was called “Pectoral Fin Slapping.”

Where were we…?
